To my bidders: For years I have done business on eBay using the name: gpstorageco*. The items I will be selling from this point on are being sold from my estate and from the estates of friends and relatives.
This WWI US M1907 Leather Sling belonged to a friend of mine who recently passed away. He set aside quality vintage military items over the years. This was one of the items in his field gear collection and is for the 1903 Springfield or M1 Garand rifle. He purchased a pack of these in the 1960's and they have been in storage since then. I have only a few left.
This WWI US M1907 leather sling is as found in my friends estate storage lot. It is clean/solid overall and shows average use (see photos). There are no elongated holes or other problems/issues with the leather (see photos). It is slightly stiff from storage but will easily loosen up and has all brass fittings as found on pre-WWII US slings (see photos). Both sewn leather keepers remain present/intact to the sling (see photos). It is WWI era probably 1918 but has no makers stamp that I can find and is priced accordingly (see photos).
Really a solid/serviceable WWI US M1907 leather sling with all brass hardware. Great opportunity for the US field gear collector to use or display on the appropriate rifle. This sling fits both Springfield 1903/03a3 rifles, the M1 Garand rifle and US Combat Shotguns. Super piece with serviceable leather.
