    WWI AEF US Army Officer's M1916 Style Leather Belt Holster for the Colt M1911 .45acp Pistol - Unmarked: Commercial Private Purchase Item - Very Nice Condition
    Up for sale is WWI AEF US Army Officer's M1916 Style Leather Belt Holster for the Colt M1911 45acp Pistol.  This is a vintage Commercial Private Purchase holster.  It is used, see photo's for Condition.  The leather is still soft and supple.  All the stiching is tight and not fraying.  The leather has darkened somewhat with age, but still reatains that rich dark brown color.
    Commercially available item were often Purchased Privately by Officer's in the US Army.  This was a common practice, as the commerical products were normally of superior quality to the GI Issued items.  This holster has a slightly different design, no marks on the holster, no M1910 belt hook, much wider belt loops on the rear, ommitted the internal block, no rivets were used in it's construction.
    This is a very nice example of a WWI holster.  This would make a welcomed addition to any WWI AEF Collection.
