    Description

This is a great circa World War I United States Army engineer pocket compass.
It is a USANITE model by Taylor of Rochester, New York, and was patented in 1915. The cover of the compass is engraved with a 1918 date and ENG. DEPT. U.S.A.
Approximately 1-3/4" in width and 2-9/16" in height and 1/2" in thickness. Solid nickel case, painted steel face.
    Hinged case.
Good Condition. Compass seems to work. There is some corrosion on interior that appears to be originating from the steel face. Light scratches and wear expected to be seen on a piece this age.
