WWI AEF US Army/USMC M1916 Leather Belt Holster for the Colt M1911 .45acp Pistol - RARE: Dated 1917 w/F.I.C. Inspector Initals - Nice Condition - RARE
Up for sale is WWI AEF US Army/USMC M1916 Leather Belt Holster for the Colt M1911 45acp Pistol.  This is a vintage old military belt holster.  It is used, see photo's for Condition.  The leather is still soft and supple.  All the stiching is tight and not fraying.  Some minor surface cracks on the flap.  It still has the internal leather block.  The grommet at the tip of the holster is no longer present, see photo.  The leather has darkened somewhat with age, but still reatains that rich dark brown color.  It has a faintly marked US oval logo on the flap and it is dated: 1917 with F.I.C. inspector initals on the rear.  The manufacturer's name is not legible, the date and inspector intials are readable.  Hard to find these early holsters in this condition.
This is an Excellent example of a WWI holster.  This would make a welcomed addition to any WWI AEF Collection.
