Cross of Lorraine
" for their defense of France. ... Throughout its entire
World War I
campaign, the
division
suffered 6,874 casualties with 1,151 killed and 5,723 wounded The book has the name of the pictured Doughboy from the 58th Artillery Regiment , Battery C. His collar disc in the earlier pre-embarkation photo shows the correct 29th Coastal Artillery Corp crossed cannons. The 29th was one of the regiments the 58th drew from to form up this major artillery regiment. Personalized mess tin showing countries the private was serving in and with. The leaf was retained by the private in the book for memories. This book has many many original photos and cartoons that provide incredible insight to the life style of the doughboy. Outstanding piece of history.
