    Description

    WW1 WWI Trench Art Heavily Engraved US Army Mess Kit Documenting Journey.
    This is an amazing engraved mess kit.  It has an awesome Biplane engraved and a baseball with 1918.  It list the journey of "JCP" from Benicia Arsenal (California) to Camp Kearny (California) to Camp Mills (New York) to Liverpool (England) to Winchester to Southampton to La Harve (France) to Nerondes to St Aignan.
    Interesting it has a "serial number" or 187 on the handle.  I could be wrong but I dont recall mess kits being serialized.  If anyone knows about this please let me know.
    This came out of a Wyoming estate.
    Based on my research "JCP" was either in the 40th, the 41st or 42nd Infantry Divisions based on the first 3 locations.
    I've submitted an email to the Benicia Arsenal Historical Society to try and find out who JCP was and will add the information if I hear back from them.
