    M1916 Wire Cutters [Light]
    Original WW1 M1916 wire cutters [Light], simple pliers-style forged tool steel construction with both plier and wire cutter jaws, measures 8 inches long. Well marked US on both sides. Rust brown patina on much of the metal surfaces but approx. 50% original blued finish remains. All moving parts operate smoothly with no damage. Cutters were found to be woefully inadequate for dealing with military grade wire used on the European battle fronts, so most AEF troops used the larger [and more effective] French model. Nice piece for any collection of US military field tools and is in very good condition. Any questions please feel free to ask.
