    Description

Mills Eagle Snap Officer's Map Case--1917
Original WW1 US Army officer's map case, light OD green ["pea green"] canvas construction with khaki stitching, khaki web shoulder strap, khaki snap strap at bottom, and khaki cotton trim on plastic map overlay. Features trifold plastic map overlay sections inside with mustard-OD green wool felt covering, external pocket with pen and pencil slots on front, and three rimmed eagle snaps. Well marked with Mills bullet logo and dated August 1917. Has a rectangular ink stamp under one flap which appears to be the name of the officer who originally had the case [hard to read, but first name appears to be CHANNING].
Average fading and some moderate soiled areas from age and use but no fraying or other damage to canvas or webbing. Several cracks to plastic on left side of far right overlay, and some discoloration/moth damage to wool covering--does not affect external appearance. Still a nice piece for any WW1 web gear or eagle snap gear collection and is in good condition. Any questions please feel free to ask.
