    Description

This is a set of leather leggings for a US Army uniform. They are not dated but come from the era of the turn of the century to World War I. The right-hand legging is stamped "Teitzel Made" for the J C Teitzel company of Kansas.  I cannot find a definitive reference to tell if these were exclusively for cavalry or if any soldier or officer could wear them. They are in very good or better condition. There are numerous superficial scuffs and wear marks as expected with used leather products but which most likely will go away with polishing if desired. There are no gouges into the leather and no holes. The straps are intact and the buckles work well. There are no odors.
