Vintage J. Casartelli & Son Manchester Military Sighting Level Tool No. 467 1917

This is some type of vintage military item that is dated 1917 and I think is a sighting level tool.  It is marked very legibly on one side with these words:  J. Casartelli & Son Manchester No. 467 1917.  It has an arm that comes up in the front.  It has a vial with good bubble on the top.  It measures about 9 1/2" with the front being about 1/2" wide and back being 2" wide.  It is being sold as is.  I have not cleaned it.  Buyer to pay s/h calculated in USA.  Email with questions.  NO INTERNATIONAL BIDDING.
