Vintage Barbie Friend Marie Osmond Nude Doll Celebrity Toy Korea 1970

In this listing we have a really lovely doll that was designed to look like Marie Osmond. This doll was released by Mattel in the 1970s as part of their Barbie line. This doll is a really nice likeness of Marie. She has brown hair with a side part, large brown eyes, and light pink lips in her infamous wide smile. This doll is articulated at the neck, shoulders, waist, hips, and has internal clicking knees. This doll has one straight arm and one bent arm. The bent arm has a large hole in the hand for her microphone to click into (sadly, she does not have her microphone). This doll was made in Korea. The colors came out a little weird in the pictures, they are more muted and less saturated in person.
This doll is in good shape but does have some issues. She has been played with but also has some age issues. The doll has been washed, but could use a more in-depth cleaning. The doll’s hair is nice. It is a bit choppy, but I think that’s from the factory. Her top layer of hair (coming from her part) is noticeable shorter compared to the lower layers of hair, but I believe that is from the factory. It is a little messy so she will need some styling help. Just some minor styling help and she’ll be looking lovely. The doll’s face is a little pale compared to the rest of the doll. These dolls are very prone to fading, including just fading in spots. Her hairline might be a little more pale compared to the rest of her face. It's hard to see, but I think the doll has a flat spot or an indented spot on the center of her forehead. The doll’s face paint looks good. She does have a spot of excess paint below her right eye. In her right eye in the front of her iris, the brown iris paint bled slightly into the white eye paint. She has another dark spot below the tail of her right eyebrow. When you look at the doll up close there are some small paint flaws to her eyes. The edges of her eyebrows aren’t as crisp as they could be. The doll’s lips and teeth looks good, however in a few spots, mostly on the sides, the teeth paint is a little thin or work and the lip paint can be seen through the teeth paint. On the back of the doll’s head along the neck rim there’s a small indent in the head. It looks okay, but I would be very careful if you take the doll’s head off since it could be a weak spot. The doll’s torso looks good. She does have some small scratches and scuffs to the hard plastic torso. She does have some excess plastic alone some of the seam lines, especially the right seam at the neck. On that spot the plastic has a white color going along the seam. On the doll’s right hip there’s a faint black spot. It’s very hard to see (I didn’t notice this until writing this listing) there are some faint lines pressed into the doll’s groin, I believe to mimic pubic hair. The doll’s arms are okay. They do have seam lines and mold injection spots. Both hands, especially the left hand were slightly warped when I got the doll. I was able to ease out some of the damage to the hands, but you can see some indents and minor warping to the hands. There is a faint black spot to the back of the doll’s left upper arm. The doll’s legs look good. She does have some faint black marks and stains all over the legs. These might be able to come off with a deeper cleaning, but I am not sure. They are very faint, so they might not be as visible in pictures as they are in person. The doll’s legs bend and click in two positions. In the pictures they are clicked in the first position. Along some of the seam lines there are some excess vinyl in some spots. The doll does have some holes in her leg where the rubber “skin” is anchored to the hard plastic “bones”. On the back of her upper leg they have a small dark cast to them. There is also one on the side of her ankle on the right leg. There are some faint scratches to the doll’s feet, but they are very minor. Please examine all pictures to see the exact condition of the doll, but please keep in mind some issues are more visible in person compared to pictures.
