US M1912 Cavalry Picket Pin and Cavalry Scabbard - Original and Very NICE

Description

This is an original US Cavalry Picket Pin and scabbard.   Known as the Model 1912, this pin was primarily intended to be driven into the ground, and then the horse could be tied to it.   The other end also had a hammer and prawl for working on the horseshoes.   The pin could also be used as a handle for the optional shovel head.   The pin is in really great shape, and shows almost no use.    The pin scabbard was attached to the Patton Sword or on the belt ring.   This scabbard is still a beautiful russet color, and in great condition.  The straps are nice, but the upper one has a tiny tear in the eyelet, which you will see in the picture.   The stitching is nice and clean and solid.
