Item Description
About the Spinosaurus species:
This theropod dinosaur was made famous in the movie Jurassic Park III. Most researc
hers now believe this to be the largest carnivorous dinosaur to exist, even larger than than the North American T-Rex, and perhaps why it was the star of J. Park III. Unlike our jaws, where when we bite down....our top teeth sit on top of our bottom teeth, the Spinosaurus jaw was more like that of a crocodile, with enough space between each tooth to allow the jaw to close completely and the teeth to interlock. This species is also believed to have lived on both land and in the water. Only speculation can be made for the function of the huge sail like structure that protruded off the spinal column of the Spinosaurus. Some have formulated that this sail could have helped to regulate core body temperture....others have formulated that it could have been used to "puff" up the size of the animal and intimidate its enemies. There is still on going debate as to whether it was even a sail at all...or was it really a hump consisting of mostly fat? Either way, this sail like structure added tremendous size to this already massive dinosaur.
About this specimen:
I can pretty much guarantee you do NOT own one of these in your collection. Why do I say that? Because not many people are dumb enough to attempt to polish a Spinosaurus tooth. For starters, you have to pick a 100% natural specimen to polish. You can’t polish a restored or repaired tooth…you would just destroy it. Secondly, Spino teeth are much more fragile than sharks teeth and break easily, which is what happen to the tip on this tooth. So you basically take a nice 100% natural tooth and you spend time polishing it knowing that there is a very good chance it will break when you do. Pretty stupid really. But here you go anyway…I guess I am that dumb. I simply like they way they turn out….almost looks like a piece of ivory but of course it is not…it is a polished Spinosaurus tooth and they often times will come out pure white with some cool purple or red veins running through it. This is only the 3rd one I have ever done so pretty sure the 3rd one in existence. Enjoy!

COA & Fossils
COA & Fossils
Unlike rare coins, gems, and even baseball cards, there is no such thing as an independent 3rd party that grades and certifies fossils...hence there is no such thing as legit COA's with fossils. Anybody offering you a COA with any fossil is simply printing one off of their home computer simply because they think you don't know any better and this will gain your trust. My name, or any other seller, divers, diggers, or collectors name on a piece of a paper is 100% meaningless and has zero value. The value is in the fossil itself. Nobody cares who found it...who owned it...or who sold it. And for this reason we choose not to insult you by sending out worthless pieces of paper to gain your trust. We choose to use our reputation instead.
