Description
The bifurcated claw marks suggest this is Dimetrodon berea's pes footprint or equivalent. There might have been a variance of bifurcation of claws within the Dimetrodon berea species. This fossil is from the drainage side of the El Pueblo facies. Very interesting and obviously important footprint. Read about bifurcated claws in the first blog specified below (word-find bifurcated). This footprint is recorded on a thin slab partially adhered to a thicker slab. Left like that for added support. Please note that all of our fossils are from the continental United States, from NE New Mexico, US, that was once part of Pangea.
