pre-WWI Era US Army Signal Corps Pattern 1902 Canvas Haversack Pack w/41st Aero Squadron Unit Markings - Marked: RIA - Nice Condition
Up for auction is a pre-WWI Era US Army Signal Corps Pattern 1902 Canvas Haversack Pack.  The haversack is used, see photo's for condition.  The haversack is Khaki in color.  The metal parts are have no rusting.  It still has the canvas strap to close the pack.  This example is US marked, with 41st Aero Squadron Unit Markings.  The pack has the open J-hooks on the back for the shoulder strap.  It is marked: Rock Island Arsenal on the inside.
The bag is made of drab duck canvas with Spring Hooks on the upper corners of the back and a 14" x 14" flap on the front.  Inside, the pack is divided into two compartments, one for a removable pocket.   A pocket on the front designed to hold the 1874 meat can.  There is a utensil pocket on each side for storage of a knife and fork.  This bag used the detachable 2" wide leather shoulder strap (not included).
