    ORIGINAL WWI ERA US AIR SERVICE ? PILOT FLIGHT GEAR LOT - FLIGHT JACKET ETC

    Bought from local estate.  WWI pilot gear from trunk, appears to be WWI era.   Lots of leather - flight jacket / coat with separate trousers, gloves, boots, flight helmet, 3 goggles, face mask, silk scarf, flag banner, religious book, dance card found inside gear.   Came in trunk - trunk NOT included - not named.   I cannot find a name anywhere unfortunately.   There is a design or marking on the scarf but I cannot make it out.   These items have been stored for a long, long time, some pieces can use a cleaning, the leather is supple but has snags, wear, scuffs, etc......  some loops torn or missing on jacket / trousers.   Jacket is corderoy lined - no labels that I see.   Boots have wrecked zippers - I didn't think zippers were used on boots in WWI so possibly used or added later?   Flight helmet is nice and has goggles attached.   Interesting flight gear, some will need clean up and have wear, leaving it all as found.
