Original US M1912 Holster - Rock Island Arsenal marked
This is the first holster commissioned for the new M1911 ACP pistol, and was used by both foot troops, and mounted troops, until the adoption of the more simple (and less expensive) M1916 holster.
Leather is soft and shiny, and in good condition, except for some minor scuffing/surface loss at the belt attachment wire.  The leg strap is NOS original (replaced by previous owner) so russet color is lighter than the holster.  The brass swivel is solidly attached, but does not turn, and I have not wanted to force it.
All around a nice example of an iconic 20th century holster that saw some service all the way into WW2.
