Girl Scout SENIOR PATROL LEADER
World War I CHEVRONS, 1917 - 1921
This is an amazing original Girl Scout SENIOR Patrol Leader Chevrons from 1917.  This measures approximately 2 1/8 inches X 1 3/4 inches not counting what is crimped under.  You can see that the top felt bar shows deterioration, but not nearly as pronounced as the other 1917 insignia I have listed.  This has been top-stitched which may have helped maintain the actual cloth.  The front fabric looks excellent, and there is no fraying on the back which is usually expected in this
100 YEAR-Old patch
.  This is the best one that I have listed that is still felt.  The gold colored thread replaced the felt in 1922.  Although this is a Standard Khaki fabric, it is not as heavy as the uniforms of the 1920s leading me to think this is a light weight Khaki used in place of the fabric that went to military uniforms in WWI.  Due to this better than usual condition, a Collector or Historian would appreciate its uniqueness.  Look for other WWI Insignia Patches in my store by clicking on Patches, then Insignia.
