    Description

    M1910 Field Pack/Haversack--RIA 1916
    Original immediate pre-WW1 M1910 field pack/haversack, light OD green ["pea green"] canvas construction with khaki stitching and khaki cotton web shoulder/belt straps [which makes for a very striking color contrast]. Complete with correct light OD green mess kit pouch, which still has the original brown leather knife and fork scabbards inside. U.S. marked on outside of flap, R.I.A. 1916 marked under flap. Faded from use with light "fuzzing" on edges of  straps, there is also a small hole on back between where the shoulder straps and rear belt strap are attached, but does not affect overall appearance. All metal hardware is intact and undamaged.
    Referred to by collectors as the "second pattern" haversack, this version was introduced in 1914 and would become the pattern for the standard WW1 haversack [which was made in khaki, rather than OD green, canvas]. Nice piece for any immediate pre-WW1 web gear or Punitive Expedition collection/display and is in good condition. Any questions please feel free to ask.
