Here is an OFFICIAL Uniform Badge Sash that was used by a Girl Scout from the 1940s-1950s.  It has lots of official pieces and some that are not official but often seen on a sash, usually on the back which is acceptable to GSUSA.

The average sash size is 25 to 27 inches on the longest size.  However ....
a sash can easily fit anyone
by taking out the stitches (or cutting) the diagonal bottom edge.   All you have to do is pin it to the front and back of your outfit at the hip or wherever it may reach.
