Along with his two volumes on card magic (Expert Card Conjuring, and Expert Card Chicanery), this book is part of the Alton Sharpe "Expert" trilogy, which became instant classics when published in the early 1970's.   Unlike the other two books, which focused on close-up card magic, Expert Hocus Pocus featured stand-up/club magic.
Like all the Expert trilogy, the book is very well written and well-illustrated with photos.
Sharpe covers stand up card stuff like cards to pocket, rising cards, etc, but also rope magic, linking rings routine, money magic, and even the vanishing birdcage (which every club magician worthy of standing in Blackstone's shadow included in their set).
Look at the photo of the Contents, and example pages to get a sense of the format.
D Robbins has since reprinted the other two Card books in the Sharpe Expert trilogy (check out our other listings for those!),, but Expert Hocus Pocus has never been reprinted, so it has become harder to find.      This is the original Tannen's edition, 2nd printing, in excellent, like new condition.
