This Intermediate Girl Scout Badge isDRESSMAKER
and it is #4 or ME (Marrow Edged) with a dark green border from 1955. This is one of the badges that gets harder to find the closer to the present you get. Sewing certainly lost its popularity over the years.
These are in NEW
Condition without holes, marks or fading.

Background Information on Intermediate Badges from 1938 to 1963 roughly as follows
:
1.
1938-1947
: Silver Green fabric with extra material to “crimp” under before sewing.

Comes in Black stitching on the back OR
·
White stitching on the back. 1947 only.
2.
1948-1954
: Comes with the background ‘covert’ fabric of the Bright Medium Green Intermediate Uniform. Has extra material to “crimp” under before sewing. (Covert is a tweed-looking texture.)
3.
1954
Only: West Coast Cut or BMG Cut: Prototype Merrow Edged Badge. Same ‘covert’fabric in front, but MUST have a cheesecloth backing. Much smaller in size than the next issue of badges. Border of DARK green thread is wider than 1955.

. 1955-1960
: Comes with the same ‘covert’ or speckled fabric with the edge of the badge sewn completely around in a small border of stitching. Comes with a Light Green border (thought to be leftover thread from the BMG badges,) and Dark Green border.
5.
1960-1963
: Background material changed to a Light Green fabric that matches the 1963 Junior Uniform. There were THREE places the Intermediate designs were sent in 1963:
a) Stayed exactly the same with a possible Name Change as a Junior Badge
b) Changed to a Cadette Level Badge with a bright YELLOW border.
c) Design permanently Discontinued
