Look at the photos of table of contents and/or page shots to get an idea of style and format.
A truly under-rated book among the literature of performing for children.   Originally published in the 1940's, the book still contains very relevant and useful advice for the kidshow performer.  In re-reading the book to write this description, I had to smile when I found that the "kidshow program template" that I used successfully for 3+ decades was from page 47 of this book.  (I had forgotten when and where I learned a practical and effective way to order the tricks in my kidshow.  But it was from this book!)
Many of the specific tricks that are described are dated, and probably not good for today's audiences, or contemporary performing practicalities.   (Some of them are still quite applicable and good, just not all).   But the advice about planning and prepping your show, and handling the audience, etc are still spot-on, and a goldmine for a kidshow performer who does not want to learn from making mistakes.  Even old pros at kidshows can learn from this book
If you do kidshows, or plan on it, and you do not have this book, you should get it.
EXTRA BONUS:  this reprint by D. Robbins is actually easier to read than the original Tannen's paperback from the 1960's.   The original was quite stiff and tightly bound, and I always felt like I was about to crack the binding if I opened it too much.  This reprint has a much more flexible cover, and is slightly smaller -- so much easier to handle and study.  (Never thought I would prefer a reprint to an original edition, but there ya go!)
This is new-old dealer inventory, from late 1990s, but in like new condition, unused and never previously owned.
