Description

Collection of (5) Raptor Teeth
This nice collection of five theropod teeth are identified on the first picture, from left to right as follows:
(3) Dromaeosaurus Teeth.  The first three teeth come from the carnivore, Dromaeosaurus.  The name Dromaeosaurus means "swift running lizard".
(1) Paronychodon Tooth.  The next tooth comes from the raptor, Paronychodon.  Paronychodon is known for its distinctive teeth that carry prominent vertical ridges on both sides of the tooth.
(1) Richardoestesia Tooth.  The last dagger shaped tooth comes from the raptor, Richardoestesia.  Richardoestesia teeth are easily recognized by their tiny serrations and triangular shape.
These five teeth were all found in one piece needing no restoration.  One of the Dromaeosaurus teeth has broken away from its root unevenly and another has enamel that is missing.  The Paronychodon tooth has natural feeding wear.  The five raptor teeth all have nice detail and preservation with a brown to black coloration.  All around a nice group of raptor teeth.
The largest raptor tooth (Dromaeosaurus) measures:  5/16" of an inch wide by 3/4" of an inch in length.
The smallest raptor tooth (Richardoestesia) measures:  1/8" of an inch wide by 3/8" of an inch in length.
These five raptor teeth were dug out of a microsite in the Hell Creek Formation of Powder River County, Montana.  The five fossils were collected on private ranch land with the owner's permission.
