    Description

    For bid is an original circa 1948-1949 San Francisco, California FINE PRESS prospectus for the book of Glen Coffield poetry book "THE NIGHT IS WHERE YOU FLY."  Book was illustrated with woodblock illustrations by painter LEE MULLICAN.  This is a four-page prospectus announcing the comping printing of the book printed at the Centaur Press of San Francisco (Adrian Wilson).  California letterpress book with illustrations by Lee Mullican (1919-1998).  He was an influential "DYNATON MOVEMENT" artist.  Glen Coffield (1917-1981) was a great poet and conscientious objector during World War II.  Known as Oregon's "first hippie."
    The second panel of this prospectus features a color woodblock print by Mullican.  Printing information, price, etc.  Adrian Wilson was a LEGENDARY letterpress fine printer in San Francisco, California.
