Beautifully Preserved and Nicely Serrated Museum Quality Dinosaur Tooth! Rare!

Description

Up for your attention is a museum quality, beautifully preserved large tooth of an early Tyrannosaurid dinosaur from the Bissekty Formation of Uzbekistan. This species of Tyrannosaurs predates the iconic T. rex and can serve as a bridge to help understand how T. rex evolved to grow to its enormous size. This rare specimen is very well preserved and shows excellent enamel covering the whole tooth. It comes from a hard to reach, desert area location. It dates back from the Middle Cretaceous (Upper Turonian Stage) that makes it around 90 million years old. A bit more details on the tooth are listed below:

Tooth size: 3.45 cm long (1.36 in) and 1.6 cm (0.66 in) wide at the base
There is some level of natural wear to the enamel at the tip of the tooth indicating that it had seen some action! Additionally, the tooth displays very well preserved serration on the mesial and distal sides of the tooth. On the distal curvature, the serration can be observed almost all the way throughout the distal apical, distal mid-crown, and distal basal areas of the tooth. The serration covers around 2/3 of the distal side of the tooth. On the mesial side, the serration covers around half of the curvature, and it is very well pronounced around the tip of the tooth. No restoration of any sort has been done on the tooth enamel, or the specimen in general. This is a GREAT DISPLAY PIECE!!!! DON'T MISS THIS RARE SPECIMEN!!!!!
