AVIATOR FLYING GOGGLES WITH CASE- Strauss & Buegelisen

This is a set of original pre WWII issue flying goggles. Center bridge is marked, “PILOT”. Includes Curved glass lenses, brass with nickel frames. Center bridge is adjustable for a superior fit. Heavy duty goggle strap is original and in good condition. Frames are marked, “GERMANY”, metal goggle case is a work of art and built like a vault. Top of case reads, “PILOT AVIATOR GOGGLE”,
“S & B N.Y. USA”. These appear to be a Strauss & Buegelisen goggle. The high quality of the frames indicate these were probably imported from Germany and assembled and sold in the USA. The cushions are intact but have hardened with age. Given the rarity of this style goggle, they display beautifully. Best guess is 1920’s to early 1930’s.
