    Description

    These wooden clackers were first used in WW1 in the trenches by the British. They were used as an alert to mustard gas. As the head was twirled around the handle, the gear cogs caused the flapper to rise and fall giving off a loud clacking sound. I believe it once had a metal box on the bottom to magnify the sound. there are splits in the sound board as shown in the photos. Shipping only in the continental US
