    Description

    Species: Tyrannosauridae indet.
    Formation: Aguja Formation
    Location: Brewster County, Texas
    Age: 81-77 mya, Cretaceous
This is an authentic tyrannosaur tooth fragment from the Aguja Formation of Texas. There is no restoration or repair on this specimen. This is a nice tooth shard with glossy, light brown enamel. Currently there are no described tyrannosaurs from the Aguja, so this tooth cannot be assigned to a specific species. There appear to be two morphotypes, a small bodied tyrannosaur similar to Appalachiosaurus or Gorgosaurus, and a large bodied one similar to Tyrannosaurus. This shard could be from either morphotype.
